Fitting the EGR Cheater

Hi,thanks for info,just to clarify,do i push down the grey pip in centre of grey piece then push all the grey piece back?..does it come completely away from black plug or just where the previous picture shows it you told me about.?presumerably in that position the black bit can then be pushed down to allow the plug to come out?

it stops where the pic shows then the black bit can be pushed and it should unplug.

Does the grey piece pull backwards without the centre bit being depressed,or do you just ease it backwards with fingers without touching anything else?

yep just pull the grey bit back with ya fingers or a screw driver

Just ordered the cheater and blanking plate, hoping this'll solve a long running problem with mine TBH.

Out of curiosity, what's the turnaround on these orders?

Mine arrived recorded delivery this morning, fitted 10 mins later and have just been out for a decent length drive - all looks good so very happy here, thanks very much :mrgreen:

Simplest circuit:

Relay with 5 pins.
Pinout for X16XEL engine.

Just a quicky......I fitted a blanking gasket to my EGR from Vauxhall a while ago just as a precaution, i havn't got an EML on but tickover is a little lumpy ,would i benefit from fitting this? And if so can you just plug in the cheater and leave the EGR in place or does it need removing completely? Sorry if it's a dumb ass question? :?

if you have the blanking plate fitted then the idle should be fine, the egr cheater just mimics the valve for the ecu

so try some new triple electrode spark plugs from the dealers, about £5 each

Thanks for that Vocky but i have tried Tri electrode plugs with no joy! I think the next step is possibly CTS? What do you think? It's not massively lumpy but its bugging me! :evil:

Should the EGR only be cheated when its faulty?

i have an eml light on, and sometimes the car with the spanner light on too occasionly (havnt had chance to take it to a garage yet)
also have loads oily substance in the inlet mani.

sorry im newish to GM engines
