Fitting the EGR Cheater

Vocky, reference the 2 wires that are swapped for non z22se types. Can you elaborate as I have knocked up a prototype so am keen to try. Any other info regarding what I may need to know etc will be really helpful. Great circuit even if I don't suceed....cheers

for non z22se engines the following circuit should be made, the reason for the different circuit is the z22se is positive switched and the other systems are negative switched.

non z22se engines are x16xel, z16xe, x18xe1, z18xe

DO NOT USE THIS CIRCUIT FOR A Z22SE

This version is not available from the z22se shop, if you want to try it you need to make one yourself.

1. Does this simulation work with Opel Corsa X12sz 1.2i
2. I have different wires colours in my EGR connector than in this topic

In addition to these, which PIN A,B,D,E should I plug to which colour

I have: Black, Black/White, Brown/Blue, Brown, Yellow/Black

you need to make a version 2 egr cheater, which has a relay to switch the negative signal to a positive signal

do u think this could also work for the newer fiat 1.9cdti 150hp ??

When I fit this, along with blanking plate, will it reduce the amount of crud that builds up on the underside of my nice shiny new throttle body? I assume the reason the old TB is so caked up is due to the EGR pipe that enters the inlet manifold immediately below it?

Also, any reason why that EGR pipe sticks out about 1cm into the inlet manifold? Looks like it it's right in the way of would could otherwise be nice smooth bit of airflow.

it will stop most of that crud

the rest comes from the cam cover breather pipe, some people fit an oil catch tank

the egr pipe does restrict flow, there is a cheap mod to remove the pipe completely notsure.gif

simply remove the pipe and use a couple of 2p's to blank the hole, leave the 'O' ring seal in place on the manifold and refit the clip.

The EGR cheater Vocky makes is specific to the Z22SE engine, and won't work on any others.
