Start of supercharge Z22se build

So I want to start getting parts together for my supercharge build with a view to taking my car off the road and buying for my missus and temporarily driving that while I dismantle and renew as much as possible while upgrading and adding to the engine. Question is can I just add the green injectors from the 9-3 and have them work with no added work even if there is no difference in performance in the meantime? And are there any things I should watch out for while buying new bits and what would be the best way to go about it? Part no's etc?

Thanks guys :)

you cannot swap the injectors until you have the correct ecu map, not sure what cc the saab green are ?

The main sc parts have to come from the states - SC, inlet manifold, lower inlet manifold mounting bracket, 68mm throttle body, sc - inlet manifold gasket, throttle body gasket

All the other stuff can be purhcased in the UK

I have no idea what cc they are tbh I just read somewhere on here that the green ones are the ones to use for a proper build or you have to add injectors into the intake. Correct me if I'm wrong people

OK so I'm pretty much thinking around 250bhp to start. If research (and my understanding of it) has provided me the right information, that should allow me to use standard engine entirely apart from the added supercharge bits plus the injectors, belt and a remapped ecu right? No change in compression or pistons or anything correct? I want to start modest both in power and cost lol. Build up from there gradually.

you can go up to 260bhp ish on a standard engine and still be safe.
any more and you will be needing better pistons and rods.
what you listed is right plus a full exhaust system 2.5" or above.

I think mine is roughly 2"

Hoffman race pipe in place of middle box with a custom twin exit behind it. Basically straight through pipes with a slight baffle around them. Like machine gun muzzles ya know? Oh and a Klarius cat up front. Looks like a sports cat. Whole system is same gauge as the race tube and the cat and downpipe are slightly bigger.

Does the system need to be 2.5 or will I get away with it for a bit?

i would go for a 2.5" before mapping. it will run with smaller but it will be restricted.
Don't forget that a charger makes them a lot louder!

yes, mines silly with 2 big silencers.
did have a 3" on it which blew all the wadding and the cat out so a straight through engine back. it could be heard 5 miles away at 2000rpm!

Hey if I buy a set of the z20let injectors will the ecu learn to use them? I'm not worried about a performance increase as such it's just I want to replace my injectors anyway and an upgrade seems the logical way to go about it rather than buy 2 sets of injectors lol

no the let injectors are to large for the ecu to just learn them there like 340cc where the sock injectors are like 200cc the ecu can do about 10% on its own
you would have to get them mapped in

Damn it lol well I mean I was thinking of getting the car mapped anyway seeing as I've derestricted the exhaust and the intake and everything. Anyone know a reasonably priced place for rr mapping?

i would save your money for the supercharger parts then get it mapped.
The gains are minimal on the 2.2 with out mods like cams and head work. even then you will be lucky to see much gain from a map just better drive ability and fueling.

  27. Black heat shrink glued lined
Thats my list for the build s**t

I say that list of parts cost in excess of £1200 and you got to add in base map and final remap on rollers. I done my build back in 2013 when the pound was strong against the dollar. So you got to factor that into your cost of build atm.

its all the odds and ends that add up.
£1500 should see you to the 250bhp mark or a bit more if you shop around.

Ok so finally got a sound exhaust system after lots of problems one way or another. Got the good second hand exhaust mani on and now removed the broken studs I had and replaced them with supposed vxr studs and all round copper nuts. The airbox has been entirely deristricted and I have plans to set up a feed from down between the bottom of the engine and bottom of the radiator. K&N panel filter and alloy/silicon pipework fitted from the airbox to throttle body. Oil breather on rocker cover with plans for a sealed catch tank/oil return jobbie. What should I be looking at next to move towards supercharging? Don't want to spend too much still at this point although if it's sumat that's needed for the supercharge build I'm happy to spend a little :)

Also got JOM coilovers and some nice 17s with decent rubber so the power is getting down even when ripping out of a junction lol. Also got powerflex on front arb. Rear ARB isn't even on atm but has powerflex too. Plans to powerflex the subframe front and rear when they need doing. Just in case anyone was gonna suggest any of that lol.
