Hello there, I'm new to the forum and hoping someone can offer some help.

HAd my 2002 Astra 2.2 Sri since last Novemeber. It's been a cracking car up until now but all of a sudden its started developing problems

Driving to the cinema a week ago and the car just cut out, engine lights stayed on but no throttke, Revs just dropped of slowly no matter what I did with throttle. Car then stalled instead of ticking over. Car wouldn't start then. After about 10 minutes of trying to restart, trying to fire but not it just kicked into live and away to go. Happened a few more times so took to local garage. Plugged in to get faults EGR valve (which I replaced) and also an immobiliser fault. All faults cleared. Off down the road again exactly the same thing happened. Back to garage,

Recommended to clear out throttle body. Out comes toothbrush and carb cleaner. Seemed qute coked up. Car certainy seems to tickover better and as yet car hasn't cut out since ( bearing in mindI haven't travelled far as I can't trust the b*stard thing!) What I've noticed now is that if I let the car get to temperature when the fan kicks in, I let it cut out. I switch car off , and then it won't start again exactly the same as before . Give it a few minutes of trying to retart aagain then it seems ok again.

If anyone out there has some advise I'd be grateful. Taking it back to garage again today to see if any fault codes have re-appeared. Engine mangement light hasn't come on durin any of this and it definitely working.
