speed?

my laptop is so slow at the moment ?

i have cleaned it all up with defragment and disk clean up but still so slow on the net ?

my partners laptop is on the same connection as mine as so much quicker than mine is the only thing i have different is nero and a u torrent programe installed would it be this slowing it down ?

we both have the same ;aptops same memory speeds etc,but mine on the net is like 56k again not broadband ?

any one help with any surgestions of how to speed it up ?

also how i can check how fast both are on the net ?

Are they both running wireless?
Are you both using the same browsers?

You prob have spyware etc on your machine so dl some anti spware and adware removal tools. Spybot and adaware by lavasoft are a good start.

yea both using wireless and both useing the same browser on differance is she has norton and i have mcaffe?

If anything, I'd expect her's to run slower with it having Norton on it. Have you done the speed test which Si suggested?

yea it does seem fast today for some reason perhaps it was just the clean up i did yesterday evening on it ?
