the guides go brittle and break up, that's why the chain kit comes complete :roll:
it's always the way with the chain/cambelt replacement
the worst one I remember was a guy on vvoc, he arranged for his car to be towed to the garage for a new chain kit, he decided to turn the car around so it could be towed easier...............
oh yeah, it blooming snapped on the turn of the key :cry:
