found a major problem
the usa cars have a different alternator to the european cars and the result is our alternator is in the way by about 10mm
So I spent many hours trying to figure out a way to make it fit
first I tried modifying the alternator end plate, but the inlet still hit the alternator
then I removed the plastic end cap and bolted the +12v cable directly to the alternator and fitted a seperate suppressor/capacitor.
[the plastic end cap houses an inbuilt suppressor/capacitor and a spacer for the +12v cable]
so finally the 2.4 inlet manifold is now bolted on my vx220
So the list of things that need modifying gets longer
1, alternator - remove end cap and fit a suppressor/capacitor [done]
2, replace servo vacuum hose - longer/ larger diameter piece required [done]
3, replace servo vacuum hose one way valve - to match new hose
4, ecu mounting - make a couple of brackets
5, dip stick tube - make a bracket
6, egr - remove pipe and fit a blanking plate to head [done]
