I've just had a look through the shop orders, and the order I have (4th September 2013) only shows that I supplied the Timing Chain kit, and not a balance chain kit.

You're right I just checked thru my old emails, I bought the GM kit timing kit from here but last minute decided to get an FAI kit for the balancer chain from eBay. So it seems an FAI are the culprits here.

Please get me the GM one, where should I send the paypal too?

Just to add to this, @jimmymac and @Dave Gilbert had their chains done around the same time last year. FAI kits purchased from eBay and our shop.

I'm going to be sending the failed tensioner back to FAI for them to investigate what has happened with it.

Getting the new part fitted tomorow morning so hopefully get it up and running again by dinner

Any advise on swapping it over?.

I know I need to set the timing and how to do that.

Im then thinking about getting marie to hold tension on the chain with her finger on the guide.
I then unbolt the old tensioner and fit the new 1 and pull the pin?.

Any ideas other than that?

check timing marks (gave you the info on the phone )
fit the new one pull pin
