8 months ago, at my Vectra C there happened an engine accident, namely the head valves collision with pistons due to old type timing chain tensioner failure. 1200 euro for rectifying the failure showed later to be thrown out money when this month the rest of the engine get destroyed as well.
I have purchased another Z22SE engine for replacement, however it was removed from a Vectra B car and now there is a problem with compatibility when using the engine in my Vectra C with the F23 type manual transmission (gearbox).
The engine from Vectra B is not equipped with 3 points for fastening of the bearing body necessary for my Vectra C front axle idle drive shaft inserted between the gearbox and the remote wheel drive shaft. The same engine in Vectra B drove this remote wheel directly via a long drive shaft, equipped also with a damper unit.
So, the only possibility for me now is to get this long drive shaft (if exists) of the proper type applicable at my Vectra C. I hope that its F23 type gearbox could be combined also with this direct long drive shaft, omitting the idle drive shaft.
When exploring the electronic Opel catalogue, it can be seen that any of the following parts
