I have a 2001 Zafira with 140,000 on the clock. Recently when driving especially after a motorway run when i come to a stop the engine just dies. I also have very limited throttle response after restarting but essentially is half way down the throttle pedal before getting a response. Last roundabout it did this on had four sets of traffic lights, really needed an extra foot.
Anyway i digress, plugged opcom in and get the following 3 faults:
P0404 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Range/Performance (Open Valve) (00) - Not present
P1404 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Range/Performance (Closed Valve) (00) - Not present
P1514 - Electronic Throttle Control Malfunction (00) - Not present
The first 2 i feel are pretty self explanatory but the 3rd is causi9ng me some confusion as it seems failry generic.
So any ideas on what to look for on the P1514 code. No idea to silly as i havent even had a look yet.
Also do i replace the EGR with a new one or put a blank and cheater in there? what difference is there?
Apart from dodgy piston rings the engine is completely standard
