I bought a spare block last week, but really need to strip it down into manageable (read lighter!) chunks to keep it in the house (I don't have a garage down here
) - also needs to be carried up a set of stairs

I've posted this on the VX forum, but in hindsight it's probably more appropriate here
So far it's been self explanatory - sump, flywheel, rods, pistons; but now what
Am I safe to seperate the bottom third from the rest of it without causing future problems, or would I be best leaving it out in the elements with a cover over it
If I do seperate the bottom to remove the crank, which of these sets of bolts do I need to remove (I'm presuming the crank is the massive weight that's left behind, and there isn't anything else I could take off to make it much lighter?)
Can I remove the crank by just undoing the ones circled in red, or can I remove the ones circled in green and bring it away as an assembly, or do I need to remove all of them?
(I should point out that I've never stripped an engine down before
- looks like I'll need to buy a decent torque wrench too, some of the bolts were incredibly tight to undo!)
