Project 200

Re: Project 200 (bhp)

I am just thinking of that right now, but seing no AFR plot on the dyno sheets... did they even used a wideband lambda and made a custom remap or is it just a basic reflash ?

they monitored the afr as it was run (they didnt give me a print out), choose a map from there libary, re-run it, adjusted it, then run it again

Re: Project 200 (bhp)

Guys

Please look at the torque curve
there is
NO DIP
NO DROP OFF

Just a good safe flat with slight ramp up on pwoer
Which suggests to me No fuelling or AFR issues

I would like to see for myself at what point the fuelling "max's out" as an acedemic exercise

Extra fuel does not make power
Extra air with fuel DOES

lets concentrate on letting more air in
then matching that with fuel
then getting the engine to spin up as quick as possible
that is the correct method for performance tuning

Re: Project 200 (bhp)

I totally agree with that Dr.Lee

I am just still not convinced anyone can correctly remap this engine as no one has the full realtime (emulation) access to the ECU. I would deeply prefer having another dyno run/sheet at 200hp not done by the tuner too :)

Fair enough, does make you wonder if they are playing fair or just doing it to keep the customer happy!

My alternator has packed up, so i need to remove the dbilas inlet manifold and throttle body to get to the alternator.

While the manifold is off its going to be machined to fit the 68mm tb :D

Phase 1a?

There is an irony here
IF
larger injectors were fitted at the time would this project have exceeded 200?

Well, lets see how far the std injectors go.

I managed 200bhp on std injectors, throttle body and airbox/air filter!!!!

Proof that the air filter makes 1 jot of differance............i should save that comment for AON, they seem to be obsessed by air filters!

Will you be going back to power engineering to get a true before and after?

Thats the plan!

The alternator has packed up, so i thought it was time to get the 68mm throttle body attached to it

Hi m8,

Very impressed, just read all the threads.... Sounds like ur poor Astra was indeed poorly at the start!! Glad 2 hear it's all sorted now. Not sure if I should come to the RR day now, especially with your car about, might make me rather depressed to look at my basically bog standard 2.2!! (and then cry) lol.

Not 2 be rude, how much you reckon u have spent to get to this point?

Take Care

Steady.

There's plenty of people who run standard cars on the dyno. The reports are something to look back on and compare for when you start modifying. You can see your increases then. I've got a graph for every stage of tuning my car for over the last 5 years.

Just going back over this thread, did you get to the bottom of the low compression readings?
