They look quite good :)

They must be the things that Jon at Courtney was refering too :)

If its going to be a continual problem i may well order some of these to keep in stock.

Will let one of you lot do the testing for me this time, lol :D

Kind Regards

Yes, it seems to be a problem with the type of 200 cell cat you have used.
I've read from problems on other forum and the only 200 cell with no MIl issues on a Z22SE seems to be the HJS. These have some additional coating but more expensive...

Looking at the ones that don't cause a EML they seem to be the 120x120 bricks rather than the 100x100 that piper use, which will have more catalytic material but a similar pressure loss, provided you can get the uniformity (gamma) to be high enough which isn't too hard on a main cat, alot harder on a precat. Also if you look at the 2bular the sensor is positioned in the cat outlet cone so it's out of the fast flowing gas.

the plug in units look a better deal

you basically unplug the post cat lambda connector in the engine bay and just plug in this device and your away

hey there does any one no if its better to just have a stright throw system with this new manifold or to have a sports cat on it which is better and which has better gains thanks tucker

be interesting to get a 2.5 inch downpipe with decat

also just remove a cat off an original downpipe / cat

i know hoffman cats will do a decat pipe for the z22se vectra b

just the friggin post cat lambda need sorting

i ran my car with out a cat for about 500 miles and i had no eml light. i did have the back lambar sensor open to the atomosphire and it was fine. did not even over fuel.

how did she run without a cat ?

did she rev a lot more freely ?

any problems with acceleration ?

what was the noise like in terms of idle and revving, was it raspy ?

Fitted my (Dremel tweaked  ) piper manifold + 2,5 catpipe today.

Maybe because I disconnected my ECU a while, but I have a notorious dip in power ~3500rpm. Also after some driving through that rev range, it still feels like there is not enough fuel there. :eh: Go above 3800 and it is just like a switch till redline.
(Edit: It's not like the original midrange dip, but really no power between 3300-3700rpm..)
But an M62 will probably fix this. :D

Ow, and after some spirited driving I now have a engine light + fan running. :problem: The 2nd Lambda is not liking that 200cel cat..
Do we have a working MIL eliminator scheme around here?

Finally got time to sort this:
My OBD tool revealed that I had some Lambda 1 codes and a quit peek under the bonnet revealed a loose connector. (Amazing that it had run 40km without MIL..)

Drove 100km today and no more MIL. And that dip I had sorted itself out. Now it runs OK and really starts pulling around 4K. Seems a lot more rev friendly than last year! (y)

Time to fit the SC!

interesting

i got a power loss around the 3k region since fitting the piper manifold

i might as well get my obd2 reader on and check out the lambda voltages

i know my front lambda is bent due to a failing pre cat, it is brand new as well :(

Well just to let you guys know i had a spacer made up just done 2,000 miles no EML great, but today pop, up she came. so not 100% sure if these spaces will stop the EML they may just slow it down.

Has anyone found a eml hard wired device yet for the second O2 i have a spare 02 conector just need to find a 4 wire device.

anyone?

I will buy one of these no problems
http://www.eliseparts.com/products.php?product=300

but it only looks like two wire wil this work?

yeh it should do

the 2 wires stay connected to the rear lambda the other 2 go through that bypass resistor and myguess all it does it reduce the voltage to say .1 volts constant telling the ecu that the cat is fine

Thanks cheers..

I am not that good with car wiring, so i just connect the two up and the other two just get taped up? or do they still connect to the second 02 sensor.

I am just waiting on a couple of replys or i will go ahead and try one.
