f23 gearbox problem

ok gears are stiff after say being in 5 gear for about 10mins or when box is hot on a motorway run.
town work the box is fine all free. but all gears are stiff (like pulling the stick through tar) once been driving for a bit.
any ideas? car is on 63k with orginal clutch on a Y plate.

where do you drain these boxs from? and fill them back up? and how much oil they take any idea on what oil

there is a drain plug on the box near the passenger side cv

can't remember exactly how much oil the F23 uses, I think it's 1.5 litres notsure.gif

As far as i remember F23 manual shifts need 1.8liter of oil 75W90, but i am using YACCO Competition 80W90 and i am happy with the result.

yes 1.8 litres sounds about right, I just chucked in 2 x 1 litre bottles, so approx 1.9 litres as I never let the bottle totally empty

my car does the same took it to garage and they changed the oil until it leaked out the hole(aparantly its full when it does that) but im sure the bottle was only 1 litre
