Z22SE Odd Engine Spluttering Issue

Odd engine issue... This has happened to me a couple of times in the wet now. 5-10 mins into the drive my VX goes all spluttery. I notice it more in the higher gears, I put my foot down and it can't decide whether to go or not. I stop, restart the car and it works fine. Though it did do it twice today. Seems to clear up once engine is hot. Usually I'd assume loom of doom and accelerator pedal, but I get a very small amount of oil cap cream which I would never normally get. Any ideas?

I should say I have previously had an injector 1 fault in the rain, I have since added an engine cover.

Do you have any fault codes coming on or any stored?
failing pre cat and dirty throttle body and connections can cause these faults.
