Is it the same with the Saab b207 engine ?

So cutting in the front and hammering in the bearings in the back 7,5mm??

Thanks , Christian.

not sure about the hp but it do make it spin up quicker
i would guess its the same as fitting a lightened flywheel
but then you are removing weight so the engine will make more power from not having to spin them

impossible in the corsa! :(
not sure if it can be done in all factory fitted cars? you would need to drop the engine to allow access at the least.

No matter what or where the bhp is gained they make a good difference to the way the z22se engines revs once removed :D

they still have them, been removing loads from the new Saab engines

Even the new 2.5 still has them, they allow a lower tickover so better emissions

The newer engines don't have the balance shaft due to the DMF, is that correct?
they were only ever fitted to engines to make them run/idle smoother they run at 2 times the speed of the engine 6000rpm = 12000rpm balancer shafts
the dmf is stupid amount of weight to fit on the end of a crank and often cause more problems then good :)

early x20xev's didn't have balancer shafts but the later ones did and a fancy inlet manifold to get the same power through the rev range as the early engines.
x20xer also didn't have the balancer's which helped them rev out and gain more bhp.
I will ask if they still have the graph from last time, if not I will go for another run.

You might have to compare wheel hp rather than a calculated flywheel power to see a differance. As the engine isn't making more power it is just having a loading removed from it. A vx220 has had a before and after (calculated flywheel) comparison done and there was little differance.
GM didn't make the figure up though!

What are peoples experience with the balance delete? Mine runs like a bag of spanners now and the vibration is not something i'll be living with so i'll be pulling the engine again to put them back in.
