They don't need to remove the head anymore to lower the compression so this is reflected in the price I believe.

Thank you for the name. I have spoken to Mark before and he seems to be a nice guy. But if Jon is the owner I suppose he is the one I would like to discuss further with.

Think I will contact them after this winter since my plan is to change my clutch, manifould and down pipe this winter.

sorry guys, ive got to pull out.had some bad financial news which means funds are no longer available to me.really gutted as i had big plans before the rolling road day.will be good to see what power you lot have though with the new manifold on.if anyone doesnt get round to fitting theirs though in the future, please get in touch!!!! :)

After a Manifold and downpipe plus sports cat.

id suggest the u-bend aswell.

Yes, when I have changed the manifold and the downpipe (with sports cat) I have a full exhaust on the car. The back box is a Speedster cup.

The clutch is geting a little bit worn so I will get that changed before I put on the SC.

I had alot of track time with the car gues that's why the clutch I worn........

you have a PM regarding a sports cat

What do people think about the noise levels I'll get with the new manifold + sports cat + Viper + VSE

I was at Brands this year and got a 102db on a static test
I'm wanting to do Bedford and I'm a bit worried I'll fail the test there
any ideas

Cheers

Hello all. I hope you all had good christmas's and new years and are now back ready to face the working world again.

Thought i would start by answering some of your questions first now im back :)

if the downpipe and flexi were 2.25" with most flow possible then just put on the 2.50" u-bend that should work ok should it not?

The basic idea is to keep an equal preasure along the length of the system and then at the end enlarging the bore to let that preasure off, but only when its far enough from the exhaust ports. The idea of a 2.25" downpipe, 2.5" u-bend and then 2.0" backbox is just not going to work optiumly. As the VX220 has such a small system its best to keep it all one size for the length of it. This will give the best performance and torque.

For that price I'm not going to complain :D
2.25" still bigger than the other manufaturers.
Gary how much could you do a VX back box for as well?

No worries, shall look into it mate and try and come up with a price for all of it :)

chris_uk said:
i cant imagine that the cost from 2.25 to 2.50 would be that much would it?
id like the 2.50 full system (except backbox) with 200cell cat in :)

Chris, the material price would not be much different. Maybe an extra 10-20%. If we can develop a 2.5" downpipe in the time given then its something we may look at :)

put my name down for one of those down pipes !!!!!!!! drool.gif

Done :)

Any chance of a 2.5" at a similar price :D
At the mo only Larini and 2bular (tho I've given up on them) make a 2.5" system, so should be a fair bit of demand
PS, can you make a back box with inward rolled tips (pref in black) instead of outward rolled
:)

Im not sure what the price would be but i can look into it. If we have enough time and get the manifold done early we can look at making a full 2.5" manifold back system with sports cat. Yes we could offer inwardly rolled tailpipes for those that want but i cant offer them in black unless i get them coated but that would add time to delivery and additional cost. I can give you the numbers of the coating company as it may be easier to get them done yourselves :)

Thats a shame, sorry to hear that. They will always be avaliable after the initial batch so if you ever want one in the future, just give me a call :)

looks like things are going well cant wait to get the manifold on sweet

Not long now, not long now :D

id still like to know a price for the rest of the system. preferably in 2.5"

If we get time i shall look at developing this for you.

Right, i think that answers all the questions.

My workshop now looks like a Vauxhall Dealership with both the Astra and VX220 now in and being worked on. I have already been to the rolling road with the VX220 so have a starting point also :)

We decided to do most of the work on the Astra as the engine bay has more space, and use the VX220 for rolling road testing and checking clearance to ensure that the manifold will fit perfectly.

I have to say a massive thanks to Darren for lending me his Astra which was spottlessly clean, and Neil for lending us his VX220, which has now gone from white to black after a trip to the rolling road :) Cheers Guys cheers..

Here are some pics.

So, i think this brings us up to date.

Speak soon.

cheers for the reply garry, regarding the 2.5 system, if its something you can do at a later date dont worry about it too much as im sure the manifold itself will give me a little more power so ill be happy for now :) I think i will deffinatly wait until you can come up with design/price for a 2.5 system as it seems a much better option. i guess the plus side is that my wallet wont take that much of a beating :)
