Clutch release bearing?

Hi all just after some opinions.
For a little while now my 2.2 zafira has had a bit of a squeeling noise that sounds to me like the aux belt slipping. It only seems to do it while driving if I take it out of gear and coast along it disappears completely regardless of if the clutch is up or down. So I presumed this is because it is under less load so it stops slipping?? But I had it in the garage today for a new condenser and asked him to look at this as well . He didn't even mention it when I picked it up so I asked and he said it sounds like the clutch release bearing if it goes when you put the clutch down best leave till it gets worse. But I'm thinking he either forgot to look at it or didn't have time.
Could it be this bearing he said it would be expensive? I'm also a bit worried as we are off on holiday tomorrow in it.
Thanks all.

Mine has started to make this noise as well, mostly at biting point at very low revs in first gear and reverse. My local mechanic had a listen and said unless leaking or sound changes get louder he would leave it.

@evocarlos had the noise for about 3 years.

Not sure about Zaff but if it's like the astra it's either engine out or drop the subframe about 4 - 5 hrs work clutch release is about £110 for genuine or £70 for a decent branded item. Depending at the time might as well do the clutch at the same time.

After 3 people have looked at mine I am personally leaving it for the time been.

That's not yo say it could cause issues tomorrow or 1 mile down the road.

Sorry if this doesn't give you a direct answer.

Thanks for the reply mate I looked at your thread and listened to evocarlos audio of his but mine doesn't sound like that. To me it really sounds like a belt slipping all the time no matter what gear you are in but then as soon as you take it out of gear it disappears.
I suppose the best thing for me to do is take off the belt and see if it goes. I was just wanting to see if it sounds feasible to people that it could be this.

No problem at all, Does it sound the same at biting point? Mine has a very slight noise in gear but not sure if it's the induction sound but as you mine does die off when not in gear and not on throttle.

All the best with holiday journey (y)

I don't really notice it at biting point to be honest. I suppose I will just have to look into it after hols. Thanks again tho I'm sure it will be fine for the journey.
