Cam chain needs replacing on 2.2 vectra 54 plate

Hi all

Hoping someone may be able to help me?

I have a 2.2 Elite vectra estate on a 54 plate but registered in 2005 with just 30k miles on the clock. It wouldn't start last week and has been to two garages so far! the one today (my local vauxhall dealership who sold me the car brand new!) has told me that the cam chain needs replacing at a cost of £800 plus. They also say that this may not be the only problem This car has already had serious issues which Vauxhall have eventually paid for and also hired me a car whilst sorting! Am hoping to find some info to put to them for my next round of arguements with them tomorrow

All help gratefull recieved as I really do love my car and thinking of getting a second vauxhall but.....

snapping at 30k is pretty poor

they are fully aware of the chain issues so see what you can get out of them.

I would guess a few valves and valve guides will need replacing, so the bill could quickly pass £1500 :silent:
