My wife has a 07 R56 cooper S, which we bought with 10253 miles on the clock and less than two years old.

Within two weeks of purchase it was back at the dealers having a new timing chain kit fitted - mileage 10492 (n)

Just had to replace the chain kit again, mileage 21259

So it's not even eight years old and on it's third timing chain kit

That's absolutely appalling mate, surely that can't be right. I'd be having a little word with the manufacturers if I were you.

sadly it is the norm, MINI refuse to help once the warranty has run out (n)

The guides were so brittle they simply fell apart when I removed the chain

At least the chains never snapped on mine, they have on many cars, Google 'mini chain rattle'

I think we have hijacked your thread vocky sorry

Haha can you stop calling it a mini, its a BMW (we mini owners call your "mini" BINIS haha.

HarleyPete, the mini probably was scrap but the reg and log book being re registered as a triumph was a waste of a historic mini identity i ment.
