My friend asked me to listen to his 2006 facelift vectra C engine the other day, he said it rattled when cold and had a slight hesitation at 2000rpm.
Mileage was in the dreaded vectra C z22yh 72k range (like the z22se used to rattle at 42k)
He bought a pair of genuine chains and I fitted them for him, the balancer tensioner was seized solid and the guides were the worst I have ever seen and I've seen loads
The cam chain was also slack before I started and the guides were badly worn.
If it had been a few years older and the guides had gone brittle I am positive the chains would have failed and he would have needed a new engine
So if you have a vectra C with 70k on the clock start listening for the dreaded death rattle
