7" screen help please!!!

hi i got a monitor from ebay to put in to the space above the ashtray, below the heater controlls (mk4 astra) Ive seen this done b4 in magazines. my unit fits as it seems to be standard DIN? size. BUT, it wont push all the way back and sticks out about an inch. there is some plastic sheet like thing in the back? what the hell is it? what does it do? can i modify it a bit? thanks lads.

I know what you mean mate. I am sure it removes some how, maybe 2 screws to take that part out. It's just a plastic guide for the radio if it's what I am thinking. Have you got a picture?

Have you had to fit an adapter as well to make the radio work? I had to fit one, and this does take up quite a lot of room behind the radio. You can normally tuck it down the side bedind the radio, but it's quite an awkward fit.
