its already in and working 🙂 no airbag light and all airbags showing 2-3ohm so all good 🙂

made some blanking plates for the egr pipe work while i fitted the ported throttle body
also changed my oil and filter again with blowing out the oil pressure thingy

it must of been so dirty in that engine this oils only been in a week lol

plug in the manifold

red bull can gasket on the block to stop the shit getting in

and the ported throttle body not sure its any different with it just seems to run on after letting the pedal off

took the coil pack off today to check the plugs they been in there 40k+
they look good considering but one or two of the plug holes were wet
also i was undecided on whether to gap the plugs at 1mm or .9mm so went with .95mm think there 1mm for standard spec

all the holes were sprayed with wd40 and then wiped out with a rag

copper slipped the threads on the plugs and torqued the to 20 NM
put a bit of copper slip on the tips on the coil pack and in the end of the rubber plug connection
it starts and runs but sound like its misfiring on 1 or 2 at around the 2k rpm

heres me getting me coat and going to go do it all again 🙁

Do you think it is the cooper slip causing the issue? Did you put new plugs in?

hey
yeh it was the copper slip my other thought that it was still wet so took it a run bad idea lol
just taken the coil pack off and wiped the copper slip off and its not missing now only put it on cause of all the wet in there
kept the old platinum plug just re gapped them to just under spec 0.95mm
even tho everyone says there shit my 40k+ proves different and they will stay in there till the cars done at least 70k 🙂

give the car a good rag about today the ported TB dont do anything just makes it slower to settle at idle rpm
also go a bit of noise coming from the chain end think i've put the belt on the wrong way round and its squeaking that or the end main bearings are on the way out

looking at your plugs I would say they are in need of changing, the burnt/ green/ brown marks on the ceramic where it meets the metal body are a sign of corona discharge. ie the insulation is starting to break down. they will be more prone to miss fires should any moisture get to them.

i was unsure off the top of my head so looked up the nkg chart yesterday and determined they were in normal use both tip and pad a completely intact and unworn 🙂

it may have been my fault with the oil in the plug hole when i put the new chains on i just poured the oil over the cams and the chains so they were lubed i think some spilled over into the hole for the plug
the water was from me washing it down with the hose with out the engine cover on never had any problems when its on must be to open when its off and the water gets in

engine covers off its getting sanded down then primered and body colored then hydro dipped 🙂 will be a nice touch for PVS

I see, I saw this on a recent Wheeler dealers and they had all sorts of interior bits done . It did look good, Is it expensive?

well in that vid he said £200 for some trim bits
let me say the hole engine cover is costing less than a 7.5% of that 200 🙂
