I decided to take a trip to Courtenay for the cars annual service and a session on the rolling road. For three reasons :-

A) I have never had a dyno run with the car so it would be interesting to see how she is running and what figures the engine has.
B) Jon and the boys can tweak the map live if needed, since it has received various exhaust and induction changes in the four years since the stage 1 map was done.
C) The car only really gets used locally, so a 260 mile round trip did the car the world of good.

So I'll let the pics do the talking!

First up is the full service, I have now swapped over to fully synthetic Valvoline Oil.

All done with no issues! Then in to the dyno cell.

All tied down and the first run!

The original re-map needed no adjustment as the fuelling, ignition etc were perfect. One of the best they have seen according to the guys.

The results were :-

163.99 BHP
164.14 lb/ft Torque

I was very pleased with the results, considering the changes were purely for breathing. The changes are :-

Vectra C inlet pipe
K&N Panel Filter in de-restricted airbox
Polished Throttle Body
Courtenay/Tullet 4 branch exhaust manifold
Courtenay 2.5" down pipe with 200 cell sports cat
Standard Astra Turbo 2 1/4" cat back system

But this doesn't tell the whole story. The car now produces just 21lb/ft less than a standard Astra Coupe/Convertible Turbo. Add in the increased in gear acceleration from the 4.17 final drive gearbox, lighter engine etc, and it makes a pretty swift car for a N/A engine and enough to keep a standard turbo honest to the legal limit! Jon from Courtenay who is good friend of mine, was really impressed on how well she pulled through the gears and how willing she was wanting to rev.
After this, we took a gentle 55/60mph drive home which resulted in 42.1mpg over the entire return trip!

So a really good day!!
