Hi Evocarlos. When i got it stripped down the front guide has broken up, the top bolt of the guide has not snapped but the guide has broken away from the bolt, would suggest there is around a third of the guide left and even that was in two pieces. Will have to look for bits in the sump later, haven't looked as yet but can the sump be dropped in situ?
Another question, i have got the chain on and made absolutely sure the coulored links were matched up with the timing marks on each sprocket, have turned the engine over by hand, two full turns of the crank, the coulored links were not lined up, having wondered how the chain could have jumped links with the guides and tensioner fitted i then turned the engine several more time each time checking the links and each time they did not link up, some times being four or five teeth out but the valves did not hit. WHY? or am i missing something really stupid?
The kit was an FAI kit and when i said the links were sometimes four or five teeth out i mean that each turn of the crank showed different results.
