Z22se (Carter ventilation problem)

Hello i have a question about my Zaifra A 2.2 16v. (Z22se)

I have this Opel Zafira now for 2 months. When i both it i gived the second day the Zafira a service by my self.

parts:

Replaced;

4x new Sparkplugs
New air filter
New interieur filter
Oil filter
New 5 liters Kroon 5W-40
New petrol filter

Z22se Engine;

I found oil within the air-intake? I think it shoud be an carter ventilation problem. I know the carter ventilation begins within the air-intake between cylinder 2/3. But where come this out? see picture.

that is very normal for the z22se engine 🙂

The air is drawn into the cam cover (from the air intake), the vacuum is created by the small hole in the gasket between ports 2 and 3, so oil is drawn into the inlet manifold by the PCV system.

Becourse my Z22se engine seems to use much oil. On this moment i think 1 liter oil on 4000KM (2500miles). How can u check my Carterventilation of good working?

Thats not normal to me. I had before an MK4 Astra G 2.0 16V (X20DTL) diesel. that has no oil use between the service. 1liter oil on 15.000KM (9500miles).

How much oil use a normal Z22se engine stock? (without turbo or SC installed).

Vauxhall say 1L per 1000miles is normal

0.6l to 621.371192 miles lol just looked in the astra book
my old engine had a consumption of 0.2l to 3000 miles but was a low milage engine

one litre per 2500 miles is not too bad, I would say the piston oil rings are starting to gunge up.

Can i do something about the piston oil rings?
I read on different forums that people use a sort of engine flush? is this good or not good for the engine?

This weekend on the highway i get the message on the BC Check oil level. :mad:
I checked the oil level @home en the oil level was +/- on minimum. I have added 0,5 liter oil. Now the oil level is between min end max in the middle.

But i'm not happy now becourse i added 1 liter oil one month ago. I have now drived 1300KM (807miles) between the bc check oil level. :mad:
The Z22se engine runs very good en smooth. But my engine used to much of oil. :grumpy:

My Z22se Engine has run now almost 200.000KM (321868miles). My engine is from the outside nice end clean. I can't see any oil leeks.

What can i do the best. Switch from 5w40 to 10w40 GM oil? End what is the best way to do it. I had 5000KM (3106 miles) before a big service.

Flush engine? is that a possible solution?

I had this on my old vectra b 2.2 SRI, I would go through as much oil as petrol and it was down to the piston rings was letting the oil into chmabers and buring it off.

@[deleted], What have you done with your old vectra B SRI? What have you do about this issue?

I had many problems with the car bud so scrapped and got my current astra coupe. Reason I scrapped it was due to costs of putting all the problems right.

I wouldnt worry, the official consumption is 0.6L/1000km - so your oil use is Ok. My car (astra g 2.2) uses about 2 liters of oil every 4000km and has over 400,000km on it.
