Advice needed

Hi all new to the forum
I do apologise if I have posted in the wrong place
I have a astra bertone coupe 2.2 only for about a month now it seems a bit hesitant accelerating in the lower rev range.
also its using quite a bit of oil like 5l every 2 weeks 400 miles a week average
I have read some posts about this and under stand the z22se uses a bit of oil but this is maybe a little excessive.
I have done a compression test and was hoping you guys could shed some light on what the results mean and what my next steps should be
cl1 dry 90 psi wet 115 psi
cl2 dry 95 psi wet 115 psi
cl3 dry 95 psi wet 115 psi
cl4 dry 95 psi wet 110 psi
done a service on it wen I got it. also it does smoke sometimes wen started but other than that no smoke noticed it has done 86k and I dont know wen the chain was done

If your using that much oil you have fairly major problem, the figures you quote would tell me that the rings/pistons are worn but this is unusual for that mileage. i would have expected to see around 125 PSI at least wet and dry, also at that mileage the chain is getting ready for changing. Is the chain rattling yet? your acceleration problem could be related to the compression figures but could also be, dirty throttle body, egr etc, time to start pulling it apart i reckon.

Do you get blue smoke from the exhuast?

blue smoke only on start up throttle body cleaned and egr is blanked off no rattle on chain.
yesterday me and a mate started stripping it down to put a new head an cain set on it an found that the bodger that had it b4 me has broken the bottom right corner of the timing chain cover and the corner of the sump an pasted it up with liquid metal it a right mess
the job has now become major

Personally i think that given your damage to the cover and sump coupled to your poor compression i think you should perhaps consider a secondhand unit from a scrapper. I have done a little digging and the compression should be in the region of 180psi (12.8 bar) when in new condition, with your figures you have some investigating to do, it may be cheaper to replace rather than rebuild, hope you get it sorted.
