Went to change my plugs today and found one cracked and one broken into pieces and can't get it out, it runs but it misfires under 1500rpm...

Going to mates garage tomorrow to see if they can do it... If not its the spare head off to get ported and stuff then fit that.

how did you manage to brake a plug like that?

I didn't..

I took the coil pack off and that one was like so and another actually came apart when I took it out the plug socket..Garage reckons it must of been a couple of dodgy plugs..They have seen it before... they were NGK's

the shatter if the plug socket is moved over to one side when they're old thats the only time ive seen them go

It's very weird, good thing is they are all changed and no expensive problems!

yeah i was at carls yesterday having balance chain done. but the timing chain keeps slacking at a certain point. Carl took it all out cleaned everything. it was nice and quiet when it was idling was running sweet carl had a listen while i reved to 2000 sounded great no chain noise untill i started driving home i could hear it rattling. when Carl done the timing chain last year there was alot of plastic in the engine from the snapped guide think that might have caused more damage than we thought. . gonna try an engine flush try and clear it out.

How bad is the rattle when driving? When we Where all down at pvs I mentioned I could hear my chain when u rev it or driving(having the window down), but after couple of oil changes as I do loads of miles it quiet off.

If @5M1THY has f**ked his van I'll be wanting his engine as its mega quiet

it sounds loud to me when driving. i will see how it is today maybe it just needed the oil to get right into it. fingers crossed. i will fight you for smithys engine his engine is brand new with the daily oil changes.. i will do another oil change at the end of month with an oil flush and go from there.

I wish I could go to trax, but I still cant bend my knee properly. I'm praying to get to carls for back of September to get my next lot of jobs done to the car (Gsi bumper, drivers wing, side skirts fitted)

i Think i have found the rattling. i got out of the car and when i shut the door i herd a rattle noise looked under and the car the heat shield at the centre section is very loose. i went for a drive and realised that the rattle only really happened at speed bumps or uneven road surface. will put that back on and hopfully that was the problem.

my vans all good I changed the gear cables today wasn't even a hard job tbh my next problem is a new rocker cover cos it's lost a ltr of oik in 3 days it must be that cos it's all over the manifold lol @evocarlos i think it's where that crack Is from the bolt that was too tight. @milo @carson_sri I actually get a small discount from apsley motor spares as of last week from the amount of oil I buy haha
