Hello all after spending shed loads of doe doing both chains and valve stem seals head skim the poor z22se is drinking oil like a p**s head!! And smokes proper when overtaking So seems like piston rings and not done them before so maybe thinking of a low millage se lump see one on the bay for £500+ with 51k miles but not sure on that any ideas would be bonus cheers

You can get a brand new bottom end on ebay for 450 i believe. Just chuck your reconditioned head n new chains on the new bottom end

Problem with buying a second hand engine even low mileage u don't know how its been looked after/serviced etc and u prob have to do the chains for peace of mind. I would do what Dave said and get a brand new bottom end and put your head and chains on it.

But I think head is cracked slightly still got little cream on oil cap was thinking hate to say it putting a v6 in there or exchange the car for another vectra on finance downside is I like the Saturn blue my missus keeps saying get rid but I'm like nooooo not only that but I'll be fooooked taking all my wiring out lol

HEY Marty, sounds like a headache alright, no chance of getting the crack welded? filled?. V6 would be great though.how long hs the cream been in there after the rebuild?

Hi mate to be honest the creamy cap is very little but the rings are buggered drinking half Ltr oil a day lol and boy racers know that lol so I think I'll be selling it
