Is the clutch on the way out ?

changed clutch fluid today as even though it bites halfway up the pedal it feels like it is not working until the top

gears are harder to change also

hasn't been the same since i did a stint of about 2 months in rush hour every day

clutch doesn't slip yet if i try make it slip it feels sluggish to respond and bite

dunno if it is worth adjusting gear linkage as it has the same problem through all the gears, and I don't think it is gearbox fluid as the problem gets worse as the engine warms up

try driving down a long road so you can build up speed. change straight from third to fifth so your accelerating from about 45-50 mph in fifth. if it does slip you'll get the revs go higher before it bites and pulls

i got a bad feeling the f23 is on its way out, however the linkage on the box doesn't sound too healthy either

might strip out the gearstick and have a look at it

seems a lot of sideways movement without moving the gear linkage

oki so I found the problem, the ball has excessive play, I can physically lift it out of the socket about 2mm so i have decided to use this as a way of tightening stuff u, photos were taken on my s3 with custom cyanogenmod 4.2.1 firmware

I had to take a second look to see what had actually been done :oops:

So the cable tie just slots down to side to take up any slack that was there?

correct

see what happens tomorrow with the box but the gear selector was something i noticed on my vec as well, irritating wear n tear

took it for a drive since i did a bit of botching on the gearstick

i think it is a synchro problem on 2/3/4

5th / reverse seem very smooth
