Input Shaft Replacement

Hi all

New to these forums but thought I'd give this a go. I have a VX220 with the Z22se engine. A new noise has reared its head, sounds like a trudling coming from the engine bay. Noise can be heard when in gear and clutch peddle is released, but the noise goes away when the clutch peddle is pressed.

I've taken it to a garage to have a listen and they think either gearbox oil is low or the input shaft bearing is on its way out.

2 Questions. Would an OBD2 show any fault codes to diagnose this? And do you know if there is a how to guide for removing the gear box?

Cheers

it's most likely the clutch slave cylinder

the vx220 gearbox is a little harder than other gearboxes to do, but the same method applies.

drop off the complete nearside suspension and driveshaft, drop off the downpipe, then lower the engine+box slightly to allow the gearbox to clear the subframe
