Mine said the same, even though it had the old chain and knackered air con pipe (another recall on the z22se that mine didnt have). If its a vec B, get it done before it snaps

Yeh mate i agree!! I spoke to a friend of a friend today who works as a manager @ my local dealer.. He has found out the following:

My engine number is 11054474
The New designed one started @ 11065400

So he is now very kindly ringing the warranty company to see if any re work has been carried out. I should here back from him tommorow. He has stated thate If it needs doing i will need to bring the car to them and they will need to look @ it before they contact the warranty company to see if they are willing to do it?

He did say that any vehicle after march 02 should have the rework done???

I know peeps have posted about these engine numbers somewhere before on here but i thought i would repost it for other peeoples benefit :)

I will report back tommorow if i have any more info cheers..

I take it im looking @ the correct bracket :?

Whilst having a poke around under the bonnet today (engine woes) I noticed my bracket is also cracked exactly the same as this!

I am really starting to wonder!

Mine had the Tensioner Bolt with the cuts in corners but still had the old oil jet and chain!!!

I'm in the middle of changing it at the moment but just a warning to others.

Re: Engine chain

hi i had the same problem with the chain in my 2.2 but i ignored it it started when i started the car there was a loud rattling noise i got told from the dealer that it was a noisy tappet but i wasnt convinced another garage told me that it was the chai 2 days later 120mph on the motorway the f**ker snapped luckily still under waranty so cost nothing to fix id recomend getting it checked every 15000 miles just to be safe
