well at last i got somewhere and via phone calls to luton, the dealership coughed up 70% of the bill, so i have a little bit more faith back with vxl !!!! but they still tried it on at the dealership, when i went in to pay the rest, as i was told the total would be 4 to 5 hundred squid, so 30% of 500 when i went to school was £150.... no.....not with them it came to £198.24......oh how i laughed ..hahaha.. so they got the big f*&k off tablet from yours truly and it suddenly went down to £145.65 but at least its done now and told from the horses mouth its guaranteed for 100,00k.....

Mine had the cut outs on but I decided to change the Chain anyway and it still had the old nozzle in so i don't think this is a sure fire way of telling unfortinatly mate. Get it done.

Cheers guys I looked and I know what it is I was looking for now if I am right it is the line along every corner?
But it'll be getting done anyway as yous said if it's not a surefire that it's been done right then I don't want to risk it but with the miles now at 63k got it at 47k 7 months ago LOL it must be near due a change even if it was done right when was this noticed anyway was it 2001 or did it take them a while?

note: the balancer chain timing marks have moved due to turning the engine over a couple of times before fitting the cam chain

11065400 was the start number for the new type chain, 11089285 should have the new type

but as for any suspicious noise, get it checked, to be safe

I have just been under my bonnet to try and find the engine number? There is a metal plate on the front of the engine bay.. With shed loads of numers on it??

Also wish i hadnt shined a torch under the bonnet as i have now found a oil leak down the left side of the engine near the bottom??

Not very mechanically minded incase you cant tell by my description lol..
