I came across this product. I just wanted to check if any of you from here has used it and any would feedback would be really helpful. I am very skeptical about any type of additives or flushing agents etc etc...always worried that the fumes ( because of the alien substance added/sprayed) might knacker the CAT.

Ecotek Power Boost Engine Energizer
Why use PowerBoost?
As your engine burns petrol or diesel fuel it makes soot - you can tell this by wiping the inside of your exhaust pipe.
This soot cakes not only the inside of your exhaust pipes but the valves, combustion chambers and exhaust manifold.
The heat from the engine also evaporates or burns some oil which can coat the pistons with what is called varnish.
All these deposits slow your engine down - it is well known that carbon deposits can absorb power and cause problems.
Although modern fuels and oils make de-coking less of an absolute necessity, carbon and varnish deposits still accumulate.
It is therefore a very good a idea to consider a de-coke if you can answer yes to any of these questions:
Has your engine done over 40,000 miles?
Do you spend long periods on choke and in traffic?
Do you do the school run or other short journeys regularly?
Has the car been left unused for long periods?
Does the engine oil need topping up between services?
Has poor quality petrol ever been regularly used?
Have you had to use petrol additives to improve octane?
Do you rarely use the full rev range of the engine through the gears?
Has the car ever been less than well maintained?
Does the engine pink or run-on after you turn it off?
Has the engine lost power since you first owned it?
Is it less responsive and harder to start than it used to be?
Just one 'yes' and you should read on - the improvements can be quite startling
Ecotek Technologies Plc. have developed a new and superior de-coke solution.
Rather than strip down your engine to de-coke the combustion chambers all you need to do is apply the Ecotek PowerBoost foam via your air intake with the engine running for 8 minutes and you can remove the carbon and varnish deposits from inside your engine.
This will give more engine power, crisper acceleration, better throttle response, higher top speed, reduced emissions and improved economy, as well as smoother running and longer engine life.
Removing the varnish and carbon deposits that accumulate in the engine’s combustion chambers, inlet and exhaust manifolds, has a number of benefits. Carbon deposits absorb power by impeding airflow, absorbing heat and creating hot spots.
They can also impair valve seating and generally reduce combustion efficiency, resulting in poor running, increased emissions and fuel consumption.
In severe cases accumulated Carbon deposits can cause overheating and pre-ignition resulting in engine damage.
The PowerBoost treatment is designed to restore engines to the manufacturers specification, maintaining optimum levels of performance and economy.
PowerBoost works on all diesel and petrol four stroke engines. Unlike its water based competitors Ecotek have made PowerBoost using a complex chemical foam which gives much more effective penetration and coverage.
Rolling road (Dyno) tests show significant increases in both Torque and Brake Horse Power.
The 600ml can provides more than 8 minutes application which gives full treatment for any engine with over 20,000 miles or two 12,000 mile treatments.
It costs £18 on ebay incl P&P and £27 in motor shops
