paint job

a good mate of mine ask me to come and paint a car he had in
it was a long job and required some work the body had been repaired and part primed

the car is a vauxhall cresta pc 1967

last friday was a real long day up at 4am for work then off to drop the clutch and flywheel off for balancing then to the car
made it home at 3:20am sat morning lol
8 hours prep







paint test to check for reaction and finish


1st coat


few bits in the surface


went back on saturday at midday and prepped the car again ready for the 2nd coat
bonnet and boot lid refitted


nice and green and clean


and the final finish was not to bad


i think once the car has been wet sanded and polished it will be great
the most important part of the weekend was chiken meat chips and mint sauce from the chippy lol

Impressive, what type of paint did you use?

it was a close match 2k acrylic "no lacquer""

but if it needs work after wet sanding it can get a coat of lacquer to shine it up
going back on friday to have a gander at the progress

looks like im busy this weekend to now
mate at work got hit on an island on the way home today

the rover got fixed just need him to come back when its not raining to get the color put on


hole in the arch got a plate welded in




skimmed with the finest 4.3kg of filler


shape was right and a nice thick coat of high build 2k primer put on


it rained like 6mins after i did the primer so left it at that

went back last night to see the progress the boot lid and roof need extra work but the other panels look good
took the das 6 and the g3 and g10 got the wing looking like this
