actually it was one hour yesterday and one hour today :lol:

once Luna_s has confirmed it's ok then possibly, if Courtenay agree, we can have a 'one off' group buy dunno..

just in case you were wondering what / why / how ................

half throttle resistance on a 2.2 tb is almost full throttle resistance on a 2.4 tb, so you get the 'map sensor/ throttle position' error code thrown up, the ecu uses the resistance to position the throttle butterfly valve, it moves it to where it thinks is correct, if the readings are wrong then it gives an error code :roll:

have you just cut into the wires and soldered the resistors in? I quite fancy trying to make a small loom up to fit between the tb and car loom but finding the correct connectors might be a hassle.

Anyway, top work for sorting it out so quickly. I got as far as buying a bag of resistors but then got a bit snowed under with work. I'll try and knock something up tonight and see if mine works ok tomorrow.

to make a small loom requires butchering a tb and an engine loom, so rather expensive :shock:

my vectra was a development mule :lol: so the tb plug has already been cut off and soldered back on, I just removed the heatshrink sleeving, unsoldered the wire and inserted a resistor, easy 🙂

you need to fit the exact size resistors, you will probably get away with a resistor between 220-260 and 340-380 dunno..

Fantastic work Neil, as you know due to other projects I'm working on, I have lost my test bed into the workshop at the moment 8)
Can you check on your car that the throttle is ok when you accerlerate up to 5500 rpm at very light throttle I think it was at around 80 millibar, this is where we got an error using the 2.0 litre SC body, however a small mechanical fix sorted this. The variable resistor box of tricks on the map sensor could also help if needed. I have this available, though fingers crossed it will not be needed.

With regard to a group buy on these, no problems once every one is happy 🙂

If any one wants another 2.4 throttle body to do some testing let me know as I have one that someone can use to speed the process up. Just let me know let me know

Made up the correct resistances with what I had and fitted them into the loom but it doesn't work, the car won't even start............

But, this may be something to do with the battery being flat as the car has stood for a couple of months (slaps forehead) Once the battery has some juice I'll let you know what is happening. If it works then a nice shiney remap will be required, so put me next in the queue 😃

I know you are snowed under with sc conversions (stop doing them :lol: ) so thought I would help out 🙂

I had no eml with moderate up to 6800rpm and hard accelleration up to 6800rpm, also flooring the throttle at 3000 was fine too 🙂

I spent so long making the 2.0 sc TB work that I understand what the throttle body is doing and what the ecu wants from the tb, thus I knew what should work and thankfully it did 🙂

both conversions (2.0 sc and 2.4) are easy to do, but took some development time to figure out :roll:

Workshop Mark has the SC conversions more or less sewn up these days, he has had 4 on the trott :shock: and we have not told him that there is another one just booked in for May :lol:

Ive had some Z20LET stuff going on for a while, though last week we trial fitted then mapped a VX2.2 track car that we put 2Bular Jims 4 into 1 on with Jims 3" exhaust which worked very well. I will post some pictures up. It was a fantastic bit of kit made with out the car from pictures Mark V sent to Jim. Jim is now altering the Jigs to put it into production. Power was up by a worst run of...10bhp and best run 13 bhp along with the best part of 20 lbst feet right across the rev range 🙂 .

I am also desperatly trying to build my 2.0 LSJ SC engine & M32 assembly up so I can get some use this summer, Im getting quite a bit of stick now from friends, as Ive had the car now for 14 months :cry: :razz:

PS your clutch disc will be in this week, unfortunately when they arrived last week they had been made as paddles :? So I have had them re-done :lol:

Update.

Not looking good. Turning the ignition on causes what sounds like the tb to open about 10 times machine gun style. On start up the eml light came on and the idle was erratic, it then climbed up to 2k where it sat whilst dipping occasionally. I want to check if this is part of the learning procedure before I block the local roads. Not sure why the eml light came on though? I double checked the resistances and one is 361 and the other is 250, the 250 one was bang on 240 when I fitted it?
