2.4 TB wiring mods

a big thank you to Luna_s for letting me borrow his 2.4 TB for testing purposes, it arrived safe and sound today cheers..

I have done some basic bench testing and have worked out what needs doing, hopefully in the next few days I will be able to fit and test the 2.4 TB to confirm it works ok 🙂

well I fitted the 2.4 TB to my bog standard 2.2 vec, fitted perfect, even the intake pipe fitted :?

anyway, fitted the three resistors and started the engine, instant eml notsure.gif

checked the resistors, maplins supplied one wrong, instead of ohms it's Kohms - so completely wrong :roll:

oh well, a job for tomorrow :lol:

it's killing me, a 33% rise in development costs :cry:

so, I fitted the three resistors as per my bench testing, eml notsure.gif

a cunning plan was hatched and to keep the spiralling costs down I decided to remove one resistor (I was being fussy adding it anyway)

started the engine - no eml 🙂

went for a test drive - no eml 🙂

so cheques payable to 'vocky' :lol:

add a 360 ohms resistor to wire C

add a 240 ohms resistor to wire B

Perhaps you could sell this mod for £200 as that's what I was willing to pay, but you'd have to pot the components in resin to hide their true identity 😃

Please spend the rest of the weekend driving round and report back Monday. It just sounds too good to be true!

If you put a 360 Ohm to wire C (+5v pot 1) and 240 to wire B (ground 1)
don't you need to put the same ones on wire H (+5v pot 2) and wire G (ground 2) ?

we waited over 4 months for 2 resistors :lol:
i was trying to test this, but it was a little dangerous doing it on public roads......

Have you got the 2.4 inlet manifold on the Vectra or just the standard one now?

my first plan, 3 x resistors, was a 100 ohm on G, this caused some weird errors notsure.gif

wire H has the same readings as a 2.2 tb, so required nothing extra

my vectra engine is totally standard, except precat removed, even has the standard sri150 exhaust :roll:
