I beleive it only came off the top sprockets but i didnt think i have anyway of knowing if the bottom one is ok and hasnt slipped? If I take the cams back out and rotate the engine until the timing chain marks for the cam cranks show, could i line it up that way? I guess it would be obvious at that point if the bottom crank had slipped as well?I.e if it is still in place TDC should give me 10 to 2 on cyclinder 4?
Having read the TIS Guidance it does seem to involve lifting the engine to get some of the timing chain case bolts, I dont want tobut im erring towards getting a mechanic to do it, I hate giving up on things like this but i need the car and i'm beginning tot think this could take me a while 🙁 .
Anyone know of someone in the woking area who might could do this for a reasonable price or am i going to have to get it towed to Now Vauxhall in Byfleet ?
