Our Holy Grail arrived today

It only looks like normal pins, but they are the most hi spec'ed parts of all our engine.
Specially made on demand for us with the exact same specification and zero tolerance as this years F1 engines 😃

Which is obviously not exactly the case of our SiVavles Exhaust valves...

The bump you can see on the groove walls on the first pic and the 4.8mm groove diameter makes them simply impossible to mount.

Fortunately a guy at the workshop has done a specific Tungsten carbide end mill with the good groove layout and we will correct the valves with good groove shape

Picked up the crank and its ancilliaries now that they are balanced...

Funny thing is all was almost well balanced, the worst thing being.... the new flywheel from moto concept (same as Courtenays one).
As the guy from the machine shop told me, another "fakely racing designed bling bling thing with bad tolerances".

Some performance calculation using predicted engine values, the SCx and stock gearbox ratios.
Note the left column are calculated stock performance datas, so it prooves it is almost accurate
Right column with stock gear ratios too as we haven't found a cheap lower final drive yet

This evening we refitted the rods/pistons in the bottom end....

Oh... f*ck... I made a small mistake in my order...

I wrote :

*Wiseco Forged Pistons 10:1CR Stock Bore - WIS-K582M865 - $475 *

which is a mix between a stock bore description but with a +0.50 bore part number... which I received...

those are the pistons i ordered, but i was getting the bores rebored anyway

How much did you paid for the reboring service ?

I wonder if it is still not cheaper to order new stock bore pistons...

Do the stock head gasket can take the +.50 bore ? notsure.gif

You were going to install forged pistons in a stock bore ??

Only because the sleeves has been precisely measured (don't know if the english word is "metrology"), and precisely checked on surface and for cracks using a magneto?./;! thing dunno..

What about the clearance needed for forged pistons. Do the wiseco pistons come with a smaller diameter (i mean with the correct P/N ordered) for the needed clearance ?

They come adjusted FOR a bore size, not at a bore size

So the forged pistons are a bit smaller than stock pistons to allow extra clearance ? that s it ?

I can not tell you that as I do not have the stock bore ones 😃

Normally Wiseco says you have to finish honing by yourself to get the correct clearance

Bottom end is gone to reboring/honing.
Our "piston mistake" was a store mistake. I did not mixed the refs, they advertised the bad reference for the stock bore pistons.
So well, block is gone to reboring, and the store will send me a free Cometic MLS head gasket, 87mm... and I asked for a LSJ head gasket (0.027" thickness while the L61 ones are 0.040").
High CR, we are coming showo..
