I am happy with the power, it really is perfect for me, so no more improvements planned :shock:

I kept the mechanical water pump purely for reliability, every mod I've fitted should hopefully last 100,000 miles 🙂

If I was planning on raising the compression ratio then a Saab head would have to be fitted too, again reliability is the key.

Raising compression ratio without a standalone ECU when you have much work on the head is a suicide I think; the OEM ECU will never adjust fast enough...

Maik, just been and measured mine.

Has an 81.92mm o/d cold air feed inlet, 75mm bore. The outlet is 82mm o/d but a glued on reducer to 70 o/d and 63.9mm bore.
The other one is the same except no reducer on outlet so 82 o/d x 75mm bore.

80MM and 70mm I/D Samco will go on dependant on whether 43 or 42 and available off the shelf as is other ducting.

What do you exactly mean with "43" and "42" samco ducting? Is that different quality? And with 82mm OD airbox tube, should I then use 43 or 42? Or don't I understand at all what you are talking about? :lol:

Tough decision, the air flow with the top one will travel faster and in turn through the throttle and inlet.
The other has a larger bore offering more volume at less pressure. notsure.gif

After porting my throttle i reckon something similar can be done with the air inlet tubing, but for this to work better going too large will have an adverse effect.
I would go for the 75mm bore outlet one, 80mm i/d tubing required unless you did it out of 75mm+ bore aluminium and used Samco to join together. http://www.mccsport.nl/catalog/product_ ... ucts_id=43 And i didnt pay any where near that, not even half :lol:

Thanks! I understand now.
I ordered the 85-150 airbox and will probably use 80mm piping towards the TB then. If that doesn't work to well, I van always install 70-75mm tubing and make some sort of reducer at the airbox...

Maybe I missed it erlier in the tread?

I would like to know if the engine run god on an ordinary stage two map and the 2,0 SC injectors. So it´s not running lean or something similar.

What I understand the stage two map is just a redy map that you can buy and download to the ECU? It´s not a map that is customized for each car, is it?

my engine was still running lean on the stage 2 map, but thorney motorsport can supply the 2.0 sc injector remap 🙂

When you say a "standard map" do you mean without any remaps at all?
So the ECU have managed to calibrate all this on its own? If thats so I guess all I need is an Apexi SAFC and some bigger injectors to sort out my fuelling 😃 then I don`t need to take a trip over to UK to get it remapped.

yes I was running the factory map with 199.2 bhp, but it was lean :roll:

maybe an afpr would have worked dunno..

Let me just run this by you lot.....

If I have a stage 3 tms engine set up with all that it comes with. Now that I have the 2.4 manifold I'm guessing that I will have fueling issues. To combat this I'm thinking that 2.0sc injectors would probably be a good idea, and buying them second hand from the states makes it a no brainer.

Once they are on I think that getting a remap similar to Vocky's will probably be the way to go. If I went down this route would the AFPR mentioned above be necessary?

Just trying to sort out my next steps cheers.. [/u]

Of course not necessary with bigger injectors and corresponding remap.

I see the AFPR as a way to inject a bit more fuel (not much more ) with a little increase of fuel pressure and leave the ECU "relearn its tables" from this point (if it works ?). This to avoid lean condition at WOT
