Matt iv`e just been to the local and saw this on the news, sheffiled looks really, really bad, like you said some kid was lost in a park, also a guy trapped his foot in a grid or something and dround. Nature can be a tw*t at times.

its really bad in hull aswell, some 1s lost there life trying to clear a drain and he got his foot stuck in the manhole 🙁

also my dad come home from work and left his car on my drive as his area is all flooded.. went home to find my sisters house then flooded all downstairs and then my mam and dads house started flooding and coming in from the living room wall.. it was even coming in from the neighbours livingroom wall into there kitchen aswell

its all mad.. and its 1 of them things .. you got to see it to believe it.. no 1 would of expected any thing like this for june

It's not good. The M1 is shut in both directions, because one of the biggest reservoiurs is about to burst! I've managed to get back into work at 10am this morning, after finishing work at 2am. Most people haven't been able to get back is, as a lot of them don't live in Sheffield.

a drop of rain might not hurt any 1 .. but alot of rain causes problems

theres peoples lifes been lost due to the rain, its hard to just sit back and watch your family been stuck and trapped as the levels of water rise above them and theres no way you can reach them or help, i was on the phone last night to my sister and you could here the youngest daughter screaming as she was scared.. theres no power and also said.. thru the night could only sit and listen to things floating around downstairs as they was bumping into walls and other objects

my heart goes out to all the people that are effected by this and RIP to the unfortunate 1s who have lost there lifes

this is my area and it doesnt look good at all, hope things get better were you are matt, its now started to rain again here 🙁

well hopefully it will stay dry so the water can subside then people can start to rebuild their lives.

ive just tried to get to my mams house thru the back roads and its well flooded and no way possible can you get down the roads, its started raining again now 🙁

when you look at the pic.. theres other streets that run of the main 1 and its right at the bottom of 1 of them that my family are so no way of reaching them yet 🙁

Yep. The industrial estate I work on is just on the other side of the M1, which is closed due to the damn being unstable. If that goes, most of sheffield will have no power.

i'm sure i heard on the news this morning they are considering blowing the damn in a controlled way is that still the case or am i wrong?

Well, I managed to get home last night, I managed to get to work this morning went past your work Matt. That was the only way i could get onto the mway. It wasnt very clear at all. I got to site to find it shut.

I have just tries to make it home but failed so i have made it to my mum and dads house. My mate isnt sure if his S2000 has been washed away as he had to abandon it yesterday near meadowhall.

Hopefully i may be able to make the journey home later on tonight.

Sorry, if i had have known last night the extent of this flooding, my words would have been different.
This comes from having no time, things you take for granted, not a day off in 12 months or the next 12 and probably do three times a normal persons work load, etc. So sorry again if i hadnt got time to watch the tv.

i've been watching the news tonight, i did quite realise the extend of the damage that the amount of rain you had, my thoughts are with the families who have lost someone and those who are in temporary housing while there house gets sorted.
