Throttle Bodies for the 2.2 soon..

been on the email to a comapny who could supply me with the throttle bodies and everything to go along with it here is his reply to my question

Hi,

Yes we can supply a system with throttle bodies.
I need to find a price for an inlet manifold to give an exact price.

I dont know the power gains from just going to throttle bodies on this engine but it should make a good improvement. It will also allow you to run wilder camshafts and retain a decent idle.

A rough price for a complete setup including ecu, loom, wideband lambda sensor & controller, inlet manifold, linkages, throttle bodies (DCOE) etc is £1500 + Vat.

I'll find the price for an inlet manifold and let you know.

will do im in two mids now turbo or nasp so many decisions dont know what to choose :lol:

Well for that price I would go for the TB kit 😃 , just need someone to try it out 😛

if i could make my mind up id be the guinea pig :lol: but i dont know what power it will give as the turbo gives up to 260 bhp i think the bodies will be around 200 220 bhp with the right setup

well guys ive gone of the idea of the turbo im just going to keep the car nasp i think it was ment to be a turbo vauxhall would have made it so ive been in touch with a company as you know about the throttle bodies and waiting on a reply on how quick these parts can be made up and if they offer me at the right price i could have it done mid sept maybe sooner as ive also got a weeding to organise i got quoted 1500 for the kit which includes everything now ive asked for a quote on parts instalition/setup and a couple of power runs to set it up properly so i rekon just under 2g for the whole lot which is 2.5 g cheaper than the turbo but a bit more reliable 😃

thats what i was thinking about with the turbo least with the throttle bodies there easier to keep care of and cheaper to replace 😃

I spoke to Mark Ashford at Courtenays today about their own exchange throttle bottle which is currently under developement and he reckons that this and the cams should be due sometime after September.

I also asked him about these DCOE throttle bodies and he said that he'd heard claims of large power gains but having spoken to Weber, they feel that some of the power gains being talked about are a bit over inflated.

I'm going to hold out for the cams for now.

Better ones than they were supplying before. They are having a new profile developed. I think 'Poundy' had some of their old ones but they were 'over-profiled' causing lumpy running.
