vocky Mileage is now around 750 miles since the new 2.5 engine, I slightly increased the fuel pressure to compensate for the bigger engine and the mapping seems to cope okay. I will however get the map checked, but it's too much fun driving it at the moment, plus I have a Stack a/f gauge and it seems quite happy to cruise along at around 14.7 and gets to about 11.3 at full throttle, so not too bad.
vocky I have fitted a two position switch to allow the rad fans to be used on the first position and then both the rad fans and the electric coolant pump on the second position, this will help cool the car down after a good run 🙂 I also managed to find a brand new exhaust heatshield, which has taken me 6.5 years to locate  From the dealers they are £1075
rik1083 where did you get the new steering wheel from vocky / and do they have any more? mine looks awful after nearly 12 years
vocky there was a few on ebay last year, usually under Lotus rather than vx220, just keep an eye out for one 🙂
vocky I have been building up a pile of parts to fit to my vx220 but don't have any enthusiasm to fit them at the moment, plus I would rather be driving it than pulling it apart again. So this might be the first winter where it stays 'on the road' I have had the dash retrimmed by Dave the Trimmer 😃
evocarlos that looks good 🙂 i want that kind of material in the centre of the gsi seats but cba to get the sowing machine out 🙂
Sjdickso Dash looks spot on 🙂 I would like that on my centre parts of my seats but a local trimmer said it would be around £350!!
Matt vocky said: Alcantara isn't cheap and was just under £200 for the vx220 dash (y) That's a better price than I would have thought to be honest.
Matt vocky said: Blimey I have owned my vx220 seven years and two days 😃 Not bad for £5k a year  That's less per year than my VXR was costing me 🙁
vocky I do not have much planned for this winter, just a few little jobs 🙂 Brand new Genuine starter motor Brand new Jaguar fuel cut off switch old on left, new on right and the last thing, something shiny 😃
vocky Hmm, I was not expecting to have to do this 🙁 I found the DaviesCraig water pump was leaking slightly  It was the rubber seal not in the correct position and must have been made like that, so I removed the impellor assembly, cleaned up the mating surfaces and then used some sealant to help everything seal correctly  I also had some new centre caps arrive 😃
