My vx220 project

gear clusters refitted

then I fitted the new calipers and bled them

and mostly back together, I still have to fit the petrol tank so the handbrake cable and gear cables are not connected

I would call mine clean rather than mint 😃

Today I drained 28 litres of fuel from my vx and stuck it in the mini, after that I gave up :lol:

so whipped out the old steel petrol tank this morning, I had to cut the breather pipe because I managed to run a wiring loom between that and the tank :oops:

the new petrol tank fitted

the cleaned up shear panel (JG don't look at yours or you will have a heart attack at all the grime :LOL: )

the shear panel, handbrake cable and gear cables refitted

engine tray back on

exhaust heat shield refitted

and the clam, lights, bootlid, etc all refitted and covered over until I do the next couple of jobs, one of which is to repaint the cam cover and the other to fit the door window parts

My shere panel is perfectly clean...

managed to paint strip and then respray the cam cover over the weekend

much better than the metallic blue, which was just a random paint can I had laying about last time it got painted :silent: :lol:

a couple more brand new goodies arrived, an alloy hand brake cover and coolant tank bracket 😃

the alloy handbrake cover will be fitted, along with the other interior stuff, once the interior gets retrimmed later this year (y)

power is somewhere between 230 and 250 bhp, depending on which rolling road you believe :rolleyes:

With the close ratio gearbox it's certainly quicker than a basic stage 2 vx220 SC :cool:

Nice! I think we should try and organise a get together this year, as we've still yet to see the VX220 in the flesh :eek:
