I have, but it's getting another remap early next year at Webcon as I'm not happy with the current map :thumbdown:

I fitted a saab turbo sump the other day, I will be wiring up the low oil level sensor it has fitted as standard (y)

the saab sump has a better dip stick than the z22se sump and also holds more oil, so 7 litres of engine oil now 😃

Is the saab turbo sump a strait swop then?

the saab dipstick is 100% reliable unlike the z22se 'guesstimate stick'

it's a straight swap :thumbup:

ps: it's so reliable that I have only filled the sump to the midway mark on the dipstick :o

i must admit i did (and im ashamed to say this!) i almost 'enjoyed' putting oil in the z20net sump coz thats saab too, like you say, put a bit in and the level moves a little, then repeat till full! 😃
ive even had another look since and it doesnt magikly have a extra litre in it! :thumbup:

it does strike me as a little thin tho....

what would u wire the oil level sensor up to then? like on mine i have teh sensor there but nothing attached to it.

Its a miracle :lol: since ive had my car all i do is wait till the warning comes up on the MID then put 3/4 of a liter in it :silent: I feel bad for doing it but its the only way i know is nearly right.

Ill have to keep me eyes open for one of them. So the z20net sump is the same too then?

i beleive so, its certainly different to the z22se but the z22se sump seems to have a bit more structure. and most of the parts on the net are saab made and stamped

I swapped some of my time for it, so it was free :thumbup:

you can modify the z22se sumps which have a bolted internal baffle, just remove the baffle and then take out the lower metal plate which covers the dipstick channel, then refit the baffle and sump :thumbup:

the sensor works on 'fail safe', so when the oil level is correct the sensor switch is made, so a relay is required.

I plan to use the sensor contact to switch a negative signal, this will energise the relay coil and then use the normally closed relay contact which will run in parallel with the oil pressure light switch

so when the engine is running ok the oil pressure switch is open contact, the relay is open contact and the level sensor is closed contact
