update:
the rear suspension is now fully rebuilt, with powerflex bushes and new ball joints. I replaced the rear tiebars a few months ago with some stronger alloy versions. The standard ones can suffer from sudden balljoint failure, so the new ones are much safer 🙂
The last job on this years 'to do' list is to replace the weaponR 4-2-1 and downpipe assembly. You may think thats a simple task, just buy one and fit it, but thats far too easy
If you search the internet you will find various formulas for exhaust sizes and lengths, you need to know a few things about your engine like cam timing etc. Eventually you will arrive at a few figures.
Then you need to see if it's possible to buy the correct size pipe and also whether the correct length can be achieved in the car it's designed for. A compromise is usually the only solution.
For my tweaked NA engine I need 1 3/4" primaries and 2 1/4" secondaries followed by a 2.5" system, the ideal length varies bewteen formulas notsure.gif
So I have decided to use the length governed by where I can fit the 4-2 join on my car, which is just under the rear subframe. Ideally it should be just before it, but then I would not be able to get the exhaust to bend under the subframe
