Hi, little help needed:

I try to put valve springs on head but i saw that OEM valves lock keepers have 3 grooves and Supertech valves have one groove :cry:
Have you a part number to order good valve lock keepers ? Or i may bought some L61 keepers ?
I saw some 5.5mm on ebay but my Supertech valves diameters are 5.92 and 5.96mm.

Hi guys,
Somebody told me that's better to apply sealent gasket on The sump instead of on The block due to the oil way. Do you think i have to do it again or it's ok like that ?

I always add the sealant to the sump, but either way works (y)

Engine rebuild stop cause i broke my balance shaft bearing :cry:

Have some hassles when fitting timing chain:
I've broken a balance shaft bearing and a screw into the block.
After received part and tap a new hole for a larger bolt, i done timing/balance chains:

After, decided to put in place the TTV lightned flywheel. I'll put loctite 243 on thread as i seen in another project.

Now, i have to load chain pretensioner because i unleashed it by mistake.
But it did not load when i push it down and turning it clockwise 🙁
Do i have to open it and load it when open ?

Best to put it back together so that the internal piston is all locked, assemble into body of tensioner then tap it against something hard to release it and then install.

GM recommend fitting the tensioner unactivated, then activating it when it's fitted in the engine, but due to possible non activation of the tensioner with it installed in the engine it is recommended to fit it activated, thus when installing the new chain kit ensure to prime the oil system first before starting, then the chain won't jump the exhaust sprocket when the engine fires and the tensioner is waiting for the oil pressure.

fit the tensioner activated it is the best and sure fire way to be sure its done 🙂

i did the head bolts to the gm torque guide 🙂 heres the sequence 🙂

Thank You Carl,

I've open the tension and i could reactive it.
Fit on the block, tap on chain but don't seen anything move. Remove it and seen that it was out.
I finaly decided has you say to fit tensioner actived, i'm sure it's well done.

Another problem come : the B207 coolant nipple to head cylinder isn't the same as my z22se one 🙁
Do you know how to do, or part numbers to buy ?
It looks like a non standard thread size.
Do i have to tap a new nipple screw or maybe do with banjo or adpater threads ?

i left the b207 pipe in place the connected the bleed pipe to the other end once i had cut the rubber pipe to suit
