heres how i made sence of the selectors

just in time 🙂

9 x bearings,4 x seals ,3 x circlips,1 x selector shaft o ring

the box of bits

even came with a layout 🙂

restacked all the gears and selectors next stop 50 ton press 🙂

the press 🙂

all new bearings fitted and both packs rebuilt

new outer races fitted to gearbox case

gears installed

the new o-ring for the selector is the wrong size

selector arm installed

new races fitted to the outer gearbox case

it fits 🙂

now to try and figure out what bolt goes where 🙂

sealant applied to the case

bolts in and torqued down

new bearings installed on the diff

diff installed

random spasm in my finger lol

new shaft seals

both sides (the oring was for this flange not the selector lol)

almost done

gear box mount installed ,plugs and csc pipework

its done! 🙂

i had looked at the other options but when i put the oil in the f23 is made it real bad it runs better on atf even tho the f23 is knackered

thats a Vectra side gearbox mount adaptor, you need an astra mount, £25 new from a dealer (y)

I used the cheapest Vauxhall gearbox oil, the box sounds loads better with that over the expensive vauxhall M32 g/box oil :confused:
Because the gearbox is behind you in a vx220 you can hear everything !

VXR is a type 1, so the ratios are different 🙂

in that list the zaffy b with the leh has the type2 with 3.94 🙂

i need to go in to you thread and see about the spacer for the csc it will save me a fortune on a new flywheel lol
still to get the centers changed on the clutch plates

m32 on the left and f23 on the right

box is in place but need the top and rear mount

the f23 one is all to cock

I had some astra H mounts, they went up the tip :oops:

You will probably need both the astra H side mounts, unless you can adapt them to fit

with the above brackets the box will fit as meant to and the shorter selector cables only thing i need now is a astra vxr stick the corsa one is all wrong lol
not bad for £70 for all the mounts even got 2 door rubbers to replace my split one

i now also have to remove the Vibra-Technic mount from my front mount and fit it to the vxr one :S

vxr top bracket fitted

vxr vs astra 2.2 mk4 same shape and size but the vxr has a longer piller down the center requiring a longer bolt

side mount got the normal pu18 treatment

wet finger and a nitrile glove to smooth it out

looks like the Vibra-Technics mount is a little smaller than the vxr mount so just filled that in with pu18 to 🙂
