Never used that make so can't comment but the reason there is two is because the lower one is to start the thread cutting off (taper) and the plug is to final cut them.

Cheers, iv watched a few videos on youtube but nobody has said about using 2 taps. So id start it off with 1 n then go all the way through with the other

The ones I have at work have 3 in the set, but often not needed. You start with the taper one (bottom one in pic) and then once that one has gone all the way down you then use the top one

I want to make sure I get a good quality 1 so I dont snap it or damage the cradle, I know its easy enough through alloy but when its on the back of the engine in the car and access isnt the best I want to give myself the best start with it.

Tbh 99% of breakages are caused by wrong technique and lack of lube :woot:

Like I say I want to give myself the best chance hahaha.

I will take my time and use plenty of lube(any recommendations)

Tallow or anything thick and slippy like grease will work

with the right size hole the tap will fly in and out with wd40 on 🙂
them 2 taps are what i see as
thru hole and blind 🙂 spent a few years in the drilling shop at work..

so I dont k now if to go for the bergen 1s or iv seen hss n stainless 1s, I will only use it the once I would have thought, so I dont want to go to silly on price but wanna make sure it will do the job right.

I think iv got a problem(im rubbish at making decisions) thats my trouble

All the sets iv seen have only got m12x1.75 so it wouldnt work with the fitting im getting.

I think i will go with the bergen 1s I found earlier, its only 1 job n its ally so should be fine

im gonna get a tap ratchet aswell.

im getting my money back for the tensioner that failed thanks to matt so im using that money to buy the gaskets n taps n a intercooler pipe(hopefully be enough money)

Just ordered the silverline kit(will be fine for 1 job)

got it for £26.10 delivered.

Will come in handy in the garage im sure.

hopefull got/get some pennies off matt so gota get the gaskets ordered this week

Just ordered all new gaskets and nuts n bolts for the turbo, manifolds etc etc from vauxhall.

n very surprised at how cheap they all are.

Just need the intercooler pipe im missing, can only find the saab version, not sure if it fits

Saab intercooler pipe ordered £20

I did get a new gm 1 priced up but £120 for a rubber pipe is abit steep for me.

so just the 2 custom pipes n a few fittings to go.

Im going to the left side not the right and should be using the standard banjo bolt.

Thanks for thinking of me though, what kind of fitting is going into that 1?
