Hi,

I ordered a cheater off eBay yesterday actually but has to come from Poland so may take a week. Was going to order the one off here but not in stock. Why would the egr cause the issues I'm having? Does it limit fuel or something when its broken?

Hi,

Thanks for the help. Ive got that EGR cheater on order from eBay so will see if i can hang on till then as no point buying another blanking plate. Im thinking it is that as the symptoms sound very similar to mine.

If was on mine I had a lumpy tick over removed the egr and was fine

Just to update, I've just put £40 worth of fuel in as it only had a quarter or a tank in when I bought. Its not doing it anywhere near as bad. Could it possibly be a fuel tank full of crap and when its lower on fuel its sucking the rubbish up?

Take the top off your tank and have a look in see if you see any bits floating around

Filter could be full of shit. Do a mini service like you say. Sure it will help

Just come back from work and its definitely improved but still feels a little rough ruinning. If it does turn out to be crap in my tank, is it as easy as emptying the tank and popping the pump out and then hoovering inside to get all the crap put?

I thinknits a plastic tank so should be able to remove pump and clean the pump pickup filter.

Im.not sure about hoovering it out but a swill of petrol n tipping any crap out should help.

Or just replace the fuel filter and bang some redex or forte petrol treatment in n replace the fuel filter again in a few hundred miles(this is what I would try).

steel tanks on Vectra B 2.2. theres a filter on the bottom of the pump also. access hole under rear seat swab. as said filter is just in front of rear wheel, think its r/h but don't quote me on that. been a while since ive change 1.

Its definitely something related to the amount of fuel in the car. Its still a little hesitant at times but not almost dying on me now theres a decent amount of fuel in.

Would have thought it would do it regardless of the amount of fuel if it was the fuel filter?

Id clean the filter inside of the tank. Which should be on the end of the pump in the tank and do the inline fuel filter aswell. If its not been done for a while.

Its not gonna make it any worse for a fiver

Yeah, well I've already got a new fuel filter anyway so will put it on in the morning
